Unrequited love

Heartache; a natural occurrence in the realm of love.  But, what of those who yearn for love with a beloved who doesn’t even know of the lover’s presence?  I wrote this for you.

You can see more of my writing on Instagram & Facebook.

Desire

Relationships are not always of love.

The following piece was written with the notion that we are sometimes lost in love, and when we embrace the truth of our situation we can then begin to truly love ourselves.

More of my writing can be found via Instagram or Facebook.

Clarity

I yearn for clarity.  I long to feel at ease with my mind.  This month, if i was still carrying I would be giving birth to my child.  Instead, I’ve had three miscarriages and it is a daily struggle to overcome the sadness.  So, I write.  Hoping that within this writing process I will find clarity.  I know I am not alone in these thoughts and that is somewhat comforting.

You are not ever responsible for the ignorance of others.

I’m sure many of us have been down this road.  Is it worth it?

Introducing ‘Bash’

For my birthday last month I was gifted this beautiful typewriter from my best friend.

Love & laughter,
Curly Miri.

Thank you!

curlymirimocha In 2012, I started writing online via WordPress after my Mister snapped this photo of me on our coffee date. Curly Miri became an outlet for me to write and overcome my battle with depression.  A lot of my writing is derived from experiences in my first romantic relationship with a man from the age of 16. I left New Zealand to live with him in Washington, fast forward I’m now happy to be back in NZ.

I have now extended my writing to Instagram.   I love meeting new people, and I cherish the relationships with amazing souls I have met in the writing world. As an example, I wrote a blog post about moving into a new home and a reader sent me a painting for our home all the way from New Orleans!  You can find the beautiful work of Nancy Wolfe Kimberly (Gator Girl Art) here.

At times, I fear that allowing you to roam in the realm of my thoughts is a vulnerable gesture on my part. However, it is the genuine connections that you establish with my words I am most grateful for. Thank you for supporting my writing journey. Much love to you all.

Thursday Treats

A special entry of Thursday Treats inspired by my recent engagement to Mister.

I’ve always envisioned a wedding reception beneath a canopy of trees, sitting among our loved ones laughing, dancing and enjoying great food and music.

Samoa or Auckland are the two destinations in mind.  We have an upcoming trip to Samoa in August, so we’ll be on the look out for potential wedding venues.

If we choose Auckland, I would love a winter wedding with a vintage inspired theme.  This would be my dream dress:

Bridesmaids would mirror the vintage theme accordingly in my favorite color, pastel green.

No wedding reception is complete without a vintage dessert table filled with an array of decadence.

Mister would look handsome regardless of his attire.  We looked at a few Groom options and his pick was a classic black tux.

Baby’s breath brings back so many memories of my childhood, my favorite choice for wedding flowers on tables and as a bouquet.

If we choose Samoa, the tropical weather will mean a change of dress so we’ll keep that option open.  An exciting part of life, can’t wait to be your wife my Mister.

At Last

engagedI felt the essence of clarity and the passion of our affection in this very moment.  My heart trembled in utter bliss as the depth of your love swept over me.  Elation crept into the crevice of my being as you whispered the words, “Will you marry me?”  I stared into your eyes, virtuously undisguised and I could see your beautiful soul without reserve.  Tears streamed down my face and happiness presented itself in the most pure form as I accepted your proposal.  Mister, I can’t wait to be your wife.
